Gnoukouri's Cardiac Concerns
Inter Milan midfielder Assane Gnoukouri - who is currently on loan with Udinese - has been ordered to rest for the next three months at least after a cardiac complaint was discovered.
The Ivorian was allowed to leave Inter on loan for Serie A rivals Udinese until the end of the season - with the view to a permanent transfer in the summer - but having been sidelined by an initial bout of flu a heart problem has been discovered.
20 year old Gnoukouri's heart complaint was discovered during a medical examination with the Ivorian ordered to rest. He'll then be reassessed in three months time.
Inter released this statement on the Official Website.
'F.C. Internazionale announces that midfielder Assane Gnoukouri, who has been unavailable for selection in recent days because of a bout of flu, will be out of contention for the next three months. This is due to cardiac complaints that were discovered in recent medical examinations.'
Gnoukouri came through the Inter academy to make his Nerazzurri debut under Roberto Mancini against AC Milan as an 18 year old. Hopefully he can make a full recovery from this condition and return to competitive action even if it isn't at the San Siro.
The well being of Gnoukouri is the most important thing.
