Inter Linked With Chelsea Coach
A mammoth £1m a month deal will be offered to Chelsea's former Juventus and Italy coach Antonio Conte in order to tempt him to the San Siro according to recent reports from Tuttosport, via the Daily Mail.
Conte has enjoyed - so far - a dream debut season at Stamford Bridge with the Italian coach set to take the Premier League title back to Chelsea. His side are nine points clear at the summit with the run of form the Blues have shown in recently months suggesting they'll not be caught.
Having impressed with Juventus previously - to land the top job with the Azzurri - it was claimed Inter Milan's Chinese owners Suning have identified Conte as the man to revive fortunes at the San Siro and turn us into Scudetto challengers again. Well, not just challengers but Serie A winners!
These reports say Conte will not only be offered a weekly wage packet of £250,000 to come to Inter he'll also be handed a whopping £350m transfer kitty as well.
Stefano Pioli has performed a fine job so since he took over from Frank De Boer earlier in the season - who succeeded Roberto Mancini last summer - and probably deserves a chance in the long-term.
But if Conte can be tempted back to Serie A is would be hard to say we wouldn't want this. However, I'd expect him to be keen on building on a potential Premier League title at Chelsea with an assault on the Champions League next season too so don't think he'll return home just yet.
