Inter Secure Australian International

Inter Secure Australian International

Ahead of the transfer deadline earlier this week Inter Milan confirmed the signing of Trent Sainsbury on the Official Website.

Sainsbury returns to European football - having previously played in Holland with PEC Zwolle - from Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning. The Australian international has joined Inter on loan until the end of the season.

Andrea Ranocchia's early departure for Premier League side Hull opened the door to Sainsbury's arrival. With Jiangsu under the same ownership as Inter - Suning Holdings Group - this helped with the deal as did new regulations brought in by the Chinese Football Association on a cap on overseas players.

Commenting on the Sainsbury exit his former club said, via Goal.com.

'We greatly appreciate the contributions made by Sainsbury last season and thanks for all the joy and pride he brought to our fans. [We] wish him luck and all the best in his new challenge.'

25 year old Sainsbury had joined Jiangsu in January 2016.
